Setting up the website www.mbelibaistudy.org was an initiative of Jana and her colleague Marie Manguette in 2015, with the intention to make the research project of Mbeli Bai more widely known to the public. In order to generate income, they also created the concept "Adopt an elephant".

After the death of Jana, we decided, in consultation with WCS (Wildlife Conservation Society), to continue the adoption program in favor of our Trust Fund.

Meanwhile, the former colleagues of Jana have gone further in their scientific careers, which resulted in the website no longer being up to date. Moreover, the current site manager does not have the resources to keep the website updated. That is why we decided to close the website www.mbelibaistudy.org and the adoption program.

With this page, we wish to offer the former donors of the adoption program a lasting memory and express our gratitude. Please keep supporting our Trust Fund.
